What is EasyDAW?
A browser-first collaborative digital audio workstation. Record, edit, mix, and share music with other producers in real time. Everything runs in your browser — no installation required.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything works in Chrome, Edge, or Safari today. For lower recording and monitoring latency and native audio-interface support, a desktop Companion Studio is available as a Closed Beta on the Downloads page.
What are the current subscription plans?
Free (2 GB storage, 3 projects, 1 collaborator per project, 20 AI Coach requests/day), Creator ($7.99/mo, 50 GB, unlimited projects & collaborators, version history, password shares, 200 AI/day), Pro ($14.99/mo, 500 GB, Engineer Mode, fair-use unlimited AI), Studio ($29.99/mo, 2 TB, Engineer Mode, fair-use unlimited AI). See the /pricing page. Stripe is in test mode during closed beta — no real charges will be made.
How does collaboration work?
Every project has a real-time Yjs collaborative document. Invite a collaborator by email and they can edit the timeline, arm tracks, and hear playback together. Voice chat runs on a low-latency WebSocket.
What about audio latency?
Browser-native audio round-trip typically runs 10–40 ms depending on your hardware and OS. The desktop Companion Studio (available as a Closed Beta on the Downloads page) reduces monitoring and recording latency using native audio drivers. Real-world numbers are logged per-user in the Studio Dashboard — no fabricated marketing claims.
What is the AI Mix Coach?
The Coach listens to the audio features of your session (RMS, peak, spectral centroid, transients) and shares what it hears in plain, warm language — never dB or LUFS jargon. Every suggestion pairs with a Preview button so you can listen, then Keep or Undo. It never changes your project without your explicit confirmation. Requests count against your daily AI quota.
What is Engineer Mode?
Engineer Mode unlocks advanced broadcast-standard metering: LUFS (Momentary/Short/Integrated), True Peak, Correlation, per-track Gain Reduction. Available on Pro/Studio plans; Free/Creator users get a one-time preview to try it. Press "E" in the mixer to toggle.
Where is my data stored?
Project state and uploaded audio assets live on our servers behind httpOnly cookies and per-user access control. Passworded shares are stored as bcrypt hashes — we never see your passcode.
How do password-protected shares work?
Add a passcode to any /listen/… link (Creator plan and above). Listeners see only the project name until they type the code. The unlock produces a signed 4-hour token — no server sessions, no cookies for the listener.
What effects and instruments ship with EasyDAW?
Built-in native effects: EQ (6-band parametric), Compressor, Gate, Saturation, Reverb, Delay, Soft Clip, Limiter. MIDI piano roll with an AI chord assistant. Third-party plugin (VST3 / AU / CLAP) hosting is on the roadmap.
How do I export?
File → Export produces WAV (16 or 24-bit) or MP3 at 44.1, 48, or 96 kHz. You can export a full mixdown or per-track stems with every built-in effect applied.
