EasyDAW uses AI to help you mix and compose. This policy explains what the AI actually does, what it does not do, and where your rights sit.

1. AI Features Currently in the Service

AI Mix Coach — a friendly listening assistant that describes what it hears about your session and suggests small changes you can preview by ear.
Advanced AI Mix (batch) — a technical mix pass that proposes precise EQ, compression, delay, and reverb changes for each track. You review each suggestion before applying.
AI Chord Assistant — suggests next chords based on the MIDI notes you have entered and a detected key hint.

2. How Our AI Works — Plain Language

When you invoke the Coach or Advanced Mix, the browser computes numerical features of your audio locally (RMS energy, peak, spectral centroid, band energies, transient count, duration). Only those features are sent to our AI provider — not the raw audio.
The Chord Assistant sends the sequence of MIDI notes you drew, plus an optional key hint.
The AI inference is performed by a third-party large language model provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, and/or Google). We select the model per feature; the current provider is listed on our engineering journal.
If the AI is unreachable, the Coach falls back to a small deterministic rule-based coach that never fabricates listening claims.

3. Principles

Advisory, not authoritative. AI suggestions are exactly that — suggestions. They may be wrong. You should evaluate each one with your ears before keeping it.
You remain the author. All creative and technical decisions belong to you. The AI does not autonomously modify your project.
Preview → Listen → Keep or Undo. Every Coach suggestion carries a preview action, and you can undo any change.
No ownership claim. EasyDAW claims no ownership over any music, sound, or arrangement you produce with or without AI assistance.
No hidden model training. We do not send your projects, audio, or MIDI to third parties for model training. If we ever propose to do so, we will ask for explicit opt-in consent, per-user and per-purpose.
Honest fallback. When the AI cannot analyze something meaningful, it says so instead of fabricating a critique.

4. Limitations You Should Know About

Large language models can produce text that sounds confident but is inaccurate. The Coach is grounded in features we compute locally, which mitigates but does not eliminate this risk.
The Coach may over-simplify or use metaphor. It is a teaching tool, not a mastering engineer.
AI suggestions do not replace professional review for high-stakes commercial releases.

5. Your Rights Around AI

You may choose not to use AI features at all — none are required to record, edit, mix, or export.
You may request a copy of the exact JSON we sent to the AI provider on your behalf, by emailing Josiah.Genesis@gmail.com. We retain the last 30 days of requests.
You may opt out of any future opt-in model-training program at any time.

6. Disclosure Obligations

If you distribute music you made with the assistance of AI features, you are responsible for any disclosure your platform, publisher, or jurisdiction requires. EasyDAW does not stamp AI-assisted works.
